In hopes of shedding some light on how to get started creating custom data sets with the Trendrr API we will be posting a series of examples. One of our best and brightest web developers (jonb) has authored a few examples of leveraging our API via PHP.

The first example shows how you can pull Facebook event stats into Trendrr as a custom data set. Jonb's newest example uses data from the Folding@Home distributed computing project as the source for the custom data set.

Both examples are a good place to start getting familiar with our API. Also don't forget to check out the bragging rights forum for examples posted by other users. As always you can get all the docs about the API from the API section of the developer portal.

Last but not least don't forget that the first 10 subscribers to post examples to the bragging rights forum will have their Trendrr query limit doubled.

happy coding,
Matt

To celebrate the launch of our new developer portal and beta API we are going to be awarding 20 extra queries to each of the first 10 developers to who submit API examples* to the Bragging Rights forum. So break out your text editors and lets see what you can do. You can read more about what can be done with the API in our API docs section.

happy coding,

We've been working hard on the new api. The first revision is done and ready to use. The previous restful interface for adding data will still work, but is deprecated. I think you will find the new api simple and powerful. It is currently in beta so please let us know if anything doesn't work as expected (or if the docs are confusing). I can't wait to see what you guys come up with, so please post your apps on the forum.
